Dublinia & the Viking World

Dublinia & The Viking World is a heritage centre, located in central Dublin, at the heart of the medieval city.  The exhibitions at Dublinia explore life in the medieval city and the world of the Vikings and are housed in a beautiful neo- Gothic Victorian building, the former Synod Hall of the Church of Ireland.  This landmark building was acquired in the late 1980’s by our parent body, The Medieval Trust.  The Trust has worked to preserve this building as part of their ongoing work.

Here at Dublinia we aim to bring history to life for all our visitors.  We have a wide range of activities and services from Living History to our Education Service

Living History

On a Living History Day – visitors to Dublinia will meet characters from the Viking and medieval periods as they walk through the exhibitions. These characters will describe life as it was lived a thousand years ago, wear authentic costume and carry out everyday tasks as visitors walk by.
